Late last year, a Groupon deal appeared from a company that offered to make an oil painting out of any photo you sent them. I bought it in the 20x24 size without really knowing what photo I’d eventually send in, but I knew I’d have to choose from my favorite tumblr, Internet History. After much deliberation, including a lengthy Twitter discussion with the blog’s proprietor, Doug, I picked the above slightly blurry photo of an IHop to-go breakfast.
The painting arrived today, rolled in a tube, and I COULD NOT BE MORE ECSTATIC. It’s better than I could have ever imagined and I love it. I highly recommend the company, PishPoshPaints, for all your weirdo-custom-oil-painting-related needs. (They also specialize in Judaic art!) My sincerest thanks to PishPosh, Groupon, Doug, and most of all to the stranger who ordered this breakfast and took this photo and posted it online.
